The map below shows the locations depicted in the ninety-six plates that comprise John Thomas Smith’s Antiquities of London, published between 1791 and 1800. The plates are usually bound in chronological order of issue, with ‘those published on the same date […] in a variable sequence’.1 In the list below the interface, I’ve ordered plates published at the same time alphabetically. The images were scanned by the British Library from General Reference Collection RB.31.c.275, with the exception of the the image of the Savoy in 1650 and 1792, which was kindly provided by Yale.
