The 1819 Plan

After Richard Horwood’s untimely death in 1803, the plates of his Plan were acquired by William Faden, royal geographer to King George III.  Faden subsequently published three revised versions of the Plan, in 1807, 1813 and 1819.  The last of these can be explored below; it can also be seen in the mapping interfaces sitewide by using the control box in the top right hand corner of the interface.  The source copy for this compiled image is British Library Cartographic Items Maps 33.e.24.
